Sleep Consultancy
Frequently Asked Questions
1
What does a paediatric sleep consultant do?
A paediatric sleep consultant provides personalised guidance to help families establish healthy sleep habits for their children. I work with you to understand your child’s unique needs, create a tailored sleep plan, and support you step-by-step as your child learns to sleep more independently and restfully.
2
What ages do you work with?
I support families with children from 4 months old through to around 5 years old. Whether you’re navigating newborn sleep rhythms, toddler bedtime battles, or preschool night-wakings, I can provide strategies suited to your child’s developmental stage.
3
Do you use a “cry it out” method?
No. The methods I use are gentle and responsive. Together, we’ll choose strategies that feel right for your family’s values, parenting style, and your child’s temperament.
4
How long does it take to see results?
Every child and family is different, but many families see improvements within a few days to a week of consistently following their tailored sleep plan. Some situations may take longer, especially if habits are deeply ingrained, but progress is always possible with consistency and support.
5
Do you offer virtual consultations?
Yes! Most of my services are available virtually, which means I can work with families anywhere. The only exception is night nannying, which is in-person only, obviously hehe.
6
What if I’ve already tried everything?
It can feel that way when you’re exhausted, but often small adjustments can make a huge difference. I bring a fresh perspective and proven strategies to help identify what’s not working and guide you toward solutions tailored to your child.
7
How involved do I need to be during the process?
Your involvement is key! I’ll provide a plan and ongoing support, but you’ll be the one implementing changes at home. I’ll walk alongside you, providing encouragement and adjustments as needed to make sure you feel supported every step of the way.
8
Can you help with naps as well as nighttime sleep?
Absolutely. Nap schedules and routines are a big part of healthy sleep. I’ll help you balance naps with night sleep so your child is well-rested around the clock.
9
Is this a one-size-fits-all program?
Not at all. Each family is unique, so I create personalised plans that take into account your child’s age, temperament, and your family’s needs, values, and routines.

How do I get started?
Simply purchase a package through my website or contact me directly at kristy@thesleepparlor.com.au
We’ll start with an intake questionnaire to learn more about your child’s sleep and your goals. From there, we’ll create a plan together and I’ll support you as you put it into action.
